Weekly Art Market at the Oceanside

 

Every week on Singer Island, the Sailfish Marina Resort hosts sunset celebrations- evenings of art, music, food, and beautiful sunsets. The event takes place every Thursday from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. ouside on the deck in front of their dockage. Enjoy magnificent views of boats while you listen to live music and stroll down the harborside. More than 30 vendors come to display their hand-made arts and crafts. There are things like wooden sculptures, blown glass, paintings, pottery, jewelry, and much more.

 

Clark Rodriguez, an area native and Jimmy Buffet aficionado, plays live music to put you in the tropical mood. Other musicians also set up and join in sometimes, so you might even hear the steel drums and some nice acoustic music too. The Sailfish Marina restaurant also puts a tent out and serves their famous grouper dogs and conch fritters. Of course if you'd like to go sit in and relax, you can eat at the restaurant, which also gives you a perfect view of the sunset over the water and a bird's-eye to the art show.

 

The vibes at this celebration are upbeat, happy, friendly and fun. Fishermen coming to dock at the end of the day might even tell you a fish story or two. You can even bring your dog- but keep in mind it gets pretty crowded and only small dogs will be comfortable. The water is so clear on Singer Island that you can see straight to the bottom. Take a walk down the anchorage and try to find a starfish or watch the reef fish dart around underneath you. The sunset celebration is something you just have to go to if you are in the area. It's an evening you'll thoroughly enjoy and the best part is the party never ends since it happens every Thursday!
