Top Golf Options Around Singer Island

Posted by Dan Hauser on Monday, April 4th, 2016 at 9:50am.

Singer Island is known for its sprawling ocean and Intracoastal views and everything that comes with a lifestyle on the water. There are also excellent land based options for those living on Singer Island as well, including golf. While there are no golf courses on the island, some of the best golf courses in the area are located just a short drive from the island itself both to the north and the south. Here are some of the best private, and public, golfing options around Singer Island:

North Palm Beach Country Club: Open since 2006, the 18 hole Jack Nicklaus designed course is one of only two Nicklaus designed municipal golf courses in the United States. Situated on the Intracoastal, North Palm Beach Country club has been rated a top ten course to play in Florida by Golfweek as well as the number 27 ranked municipal course in the country. North Palm Beach Country Club hosted the 2012 Florida State Amateur Qualifier, and with its generous fairways, excellent green settings, and challenging shot values has been widely considered one of the premier public courses in the country. Daily rates, Annual, and Summer memberships are all available by visiting their website, www.village-npb.org/453/Country-Club.

PGA National: Home of the PGA Tour's Honda Classic and the Web.com Tour's Qualifying School, PGA National is one of premier golf and country clubs in the country. In addition to the Champions Course where the Honda Classic is played, the club features four additional courses (Palmer, Fazio, Squire, and Estates courses). All five courses were renovated or redesigned in 2012 and was voted the number one best buddies’ trip destination by Golf Digest. PGA National holds a rich golf history. Since opening in 1981, PGA National has played host to some of the top golf events in the world. In addition to the Honda Classic, which it has hosted since 2007, PGA National has hosted the Senior PGA Championship from 1982-2000, the 1987 PGA Championship, and the 1983 Ryder Cup. The PGA of America also calls PGA National home, hosting its coroporate offices on the property. For membership inquiries, visit www.pgaresort.com.

BallenIsles Country Club: Before the PGA of America moved their operations to PGA National, they called BallenIsles Country Club home. BallenIsles was developed and designed by the PGA of America as its home golfing facility and called in legendary designer John. D MacArthur to help in the creation in 1964. From the time it opened in 1964 until 1973, BallenIsles hosted the PGA Tour's annual qualifying school event. BallenIsles features three courses. The East Course was the course where the qualifying school was held, while the North and South courses were originally built as 9 hole designs before being expanded to 18 holes in 1969 and 1970 respectively. BallenIsles also offers a world class golf practice facility featuring a driving range, chipping green, putting green, and practice bunkers and the BallenIsles golf academy.
