Ever seen pictures of your friends and family on vacation snorkeling and thought that it would be fun to give it a try? Well, here is your chance!

MacArthur Park on Singer Island will be holding an "Intro to Snorkeling" class on Saturday, May 28th at 11am. The class will last one hour and will be run by MacArthur Park staff. You can learn the basics of snorkeling including proper fin and mask selection and fit, how to clean your mask, basic snorkeling safety, diving techniques, and more. The class is land based and is free with park admission. Reservations are required to take the class.

MacArthur Beach is widely known as a nesting ground for sea turtles, including the endangered loggerhead, the endangered green sea turtle and, occasionally, the leatherback. Many endangered species of birds also visit the park, including the wood stork, peregrine falcon, and the least tern.

John D. MacArthur State Park is open year round from 8am to sunset. Admission into the park is $5 per vehicle with two to eight people in it, $4 per single-occupant vehicle, and $2 for pedestrians, bicyclists or extra passengers.

To reserve your spot in the class, or for more information, contact the park at 561-624-6952.
