Ask buyers what they want in a Singer Island condo and one answer comes up more than any other: an oceanfront view. It makes sense. Singer Island is a barrier island, the beach is the headline, and waking up to the Atlantic is the picture most people carry in their heads when they imagine life here.

But Singer Island specialist Angela Voland has watched a pattern repeat itself over years of working with buyers on the island. The view people ask for on day one is not always the view they love most once they are actually living here.

“The mindset is, ‘I want to live on the ocean, I want to look at the ocean.’ Then they’re in their place and they see it at night and it’s completely dark. A lot of them wish they had some kind of Intracoastal view…
