The Tampa Bay Beach Bums, a volleyball organization on the west coast of the state, would like to add Singer Island onto their destination map. The TBBB started hosting tournaments 4 years ago in Gulfport with 12 teams. Since then, they have grown to 150 teams and host monthly tournaments in Pinellas County.
Earlier this year, they started setting their sights on Palm Beach County, specifically Singer Island, with its fine white sand. As the organization expands and explores more areas of Florida to host tournaments, they've also been approved by St. Pete Beach and Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota.
In their 4 years hosting tournaments in Pinellas, the organization has raised more than $50,000 for local charities. Their next competition at the end of this month on Treasure Island will be benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters.
