The award winning 3800 Ocean restaurant in the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Resort is getting a new executive chef. Gustavo Calderon was named the new executive chef, returning to Florida after spending the last two years doing culinary work abroad. Calderon replaces Larry LaValley who is the new assistant general manager.

Prior to taking the Executive Chef role at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island, Calderon has worked for Ritz-Carlton hotels in Cancun, Naples, and most recently Bahrain, where he served as executive sous chef. In total, Calderon has over 10 years of professional experience successfully leading kitchens of cooks and sous-chefs. For Calderon and LaValley, it is a reunion of sorts. The two worked together at the acclaimed Mark's South Beach and The Regent Bal Harbor.

3800 Ocean is the signature restaurant on the property. One of three dining options at the resort, 3800 Ocean offers guests four-star meals all day while overlooking the beach.
