The beautiful John D. MacArthur Beach State Park on the northern end of Singer Island is a great place to enjoy nature at any time. There's a beach, fishing pier, walking trails, nature center with cool animals and more. On top of that, the "Friends" of the park often host super fun events like concerts and family-fun days as well as educational events like beach clean ups and different guest speaker series. Here's what's planned so far in October:

Saturday, October 13th- Beach Cleanup 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

About: "Ocean trash can entrap and strangle ocean wildlife including endangered sea turtles. Please join us to preserve our water ways. Community service hours will be provided for school aged participants."

Wednesday, October 17th- Cruisin' Food
