Ocean Reef Surf Report

Even though we are surrounded by water here in Florida and have miles of coastline in Palm Beach County, surfing isn't something you can just do at any time of any day. You have to have the right conditions including the tide, wind, and waves, and you need a good spot. While Singer Island is relatively small, it has a surf spot that many locals keep an eye on when they check the surf report.

Ocean Reef Park is a little section on the island that has some nice peaks and fast lefts. The north end by the lifeguard tower has pretty consistent waves while the south end waves can have better form. The waves here are mostly about fun because they're usually pretty short so head-high waves is when it's really worthwhile. The locals are also really cool and about having a good time.

Ocean Reef becomes the best spot when there's a northeast swell and it barrels on the south side. There are blowing rocks on this end however and the bottom is reef so swells are more for at least intermediate surfers. It's a great little wave worth checking out if you enjoy this awesome sport. Parking is free and even while the beach is packed on the weekends, the surf is typically not.
