The St. Patrick's Day Parade on Singer Island

Posted by Amanda Hicks on Tuesday, March 13th, 2018 at 2:47pm.

The Palm Beach Shores St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 17th, at 11 a.m. on the south end of Singer Island. It starts at the town's community center (90 Edwards lane) and ends on S. Ocean Avenue. Head over to the 28th annual parade for a day full of floats, music, beer, food and fun!

The idea to have a celebration on the island started in 1989 after a small group of friends went to the nearest St. Patrick's Day celebration, the Lake Worth Parade, where they jumped in on the march. They had so much fun they decided it was time to have one of their own in the town of Palm Beach Shores! In 1990 they gathered a board of 8 people to hold the first ever Annual Palm Beach Shores Parade. The Grand Marshal, Mickey O'Brien, towed a decorated baby buggy holding a leprechaun behind a decorated golf cart. It lasted 15 minutes.

Today the parade has metamorphosed into a frolic including pipe bands, floats, the unique Mummers Marchers, lots of food, drinks, a DJ, raffle and more. Funds raised are donated to local charities and organizations.
