Fishing Tournament on Singer Island

Fish for a good cause at the Sailfish Marina Big Dog Fat Cat Tournament on Friday and Saturday, July 7th & 8th. The event is a benefit for A Second Chance Puppies & Kittens Rescue, Riviera Beach Maritime Academy, and the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center. There are $50,000 in cash and prizes and the grand prize is $10,000.
The grand prize winner will be the one who takes 1st place in the aggregate category. There are cash awards for 1st – 5th place in the Kingfish, Dolphin, and Wahoo categories. There are also 1st – 3rd place cash awards for Snapper and women and kids categories. Everyone who takes a spot will also receive a trophy.
Registration for the event is on the 7th at 5 p.m. at the Sailfish Marina Resort on Singer Island, followed by a captain’s meeting at 7 p.m. That night also starts the Sidewalk Celebration, welcoming 30 vendors, for fishermen, families, and anyone interested. There are also 3 bars, silent auctions, and raffles. The celebration takes place from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the resort.
Fishing begins the morning of the 8th, at 6:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Weigh-in is from 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and the awards will be presented at 7 p.m. In the meantime, the Sidewalk Celebration continues starting at 4 p.m. All 30 vendors still be there as well as bars, raffles and more. That night dinner will be provided by the Sailfish Marina Resort.
