John D. MacArthur Beach State Park on Singer Island often hosts events out in nature that are both fun and educational.

This weekend, the park is having a kayak tour where you can paddle from Singer Island, through the Lake Worth Lagoon, and over to Munyon Island, a home to numerous estuary and migratory bird species. Learn about these plentiful birds up close, getting to see their beautiful colors and behaviors. Your guide will give you interesting facts about these birds and other local wildlife you'll see on the island and along the way.

The tour is two hours long and you'll want to remeber to bring the following items:

A water bottle

Binoculars

Closed-toe water shoes

Sun protection

The tour leaves at 9 a.m. Paddlers should arrive half an hour early to pay the ranger and get set up in a kayak. The cost is $25 for a single-seater kayak and $40 for a double if you want to share a kayak with your spouse or a friend. Call 561-624-6952 to reserve your spot or to find out more information.

The park is located at 10900 Jack Nicklaus Dr., North Palm Beach, FL 33408.
