Florida is often known as the Golf Capital of the World thanks to Palm Beach County. The area has 160 courses- more than any other place in the state- and some of the nation's top PGA Tour members have settled down in Palm Beach because of this. Residents on Singer Island have many golf options not far away, but three high-end courses are very close by. Here's a little bit about them:

Lost Tree Club

The Lost Tree Club is located at the north end of the island and members can enjoy not only a gorgeous golf course, but also the tennis courts, spa, pool, fitness center and private beach. The 18-hole Jack Nicklaus championship course was designed to have a "classic island syle," as it sits on 150 acres of waterfront property. The club is along the

Singer Island is a well-preserved 4-mile stretch of beach that is coated in white sand and surrounded by clear blue water. It's lined with luxurious condos and hotels where residents delight in the amenities the island offers including boating, fishing, snorkeling and diving. Singer Island was just listed as number one on a Travel Pulse Magazine article entitled "25 Amazing Islands You Haven't Heard Of, Yet," for its awesome recreation activities.

The story mentioned mainly The Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Resort & Spa and the beautiful John D. MacArthur Beach State Park at the north end of the island. The Singer Island Marriott is a great place to hangout even for condo owners; its spa is one of the best-rated in the area and so is their

The state of Florida passed a bill earlier this year that favors property owners and prohibits local government from taking private beach for recreational use. As of July 1st, beachfront property owners, condos and hotels will have truly private beach that the public can no longer use.

Singer Island condo owners will have more private beach space as the general public must set up at public beaches. The wet tide line is still public access but dry sand is only for owners.

There are three public beaches on the island: City Beach, the main that most of the public already goes to just over the Blue Heron Bridge across from the Ocean Mall; Ocean Reef Park in the middle of the island, known for its surf and artificial dive sites; and Jonathan

VistaBlue, Singer Island's newest luxury highrise development, is nearing a sellout before its completion.

The 58-unit residential oasis opened two months ago when it hit 70 percent sold. Now, builders are finishing up the details with only 14 units left.

Anchorage Park Marina, a popular gathering spot for residents of North Palm, is about to get a much-needed makeover.

The park had a temporary sea wall that will finally be replaced, it'll get 16 new floating docks, a kayak launch and a new fillet table for anglers to prepare dinner when they return from being out on the water. The dog park is also getting redone and the fields are getting new sod.

The renovations will begin now and the goal is to be done by October 1st. In the mean time, North Palm residents have access to two temporary boat slips from the marina.

The makeover is being paid for by grants and village funds. The town is awaiting to see if they receive an additional grant which would allow them to build even more boat slips
