2016 Singer Island Triathlon and Duathlon

John Reback won the Male Overall and Florencia Morales won the Female Overall at the 2016 Singer Island Triathlon on Saturday June 11th.

The event, which took place on Singer Island and across the bridge in Riviera Beach, consisted of a quarter mile swim in the Atlantic Ocean, a 10 mile bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run. The 10 mile bike ride took place along a bike course that was set up heading north on A1A through MacArthur Park and then back down the island and across the Blue Heron bridge. The three mile run went through the Port of Palm Beach, the City of Riviera Beach, and Phil Foster Park before going through Palm Beach Shores and ending at the Ocean Mall.

John Reback completed the Triathlon in 50 minutes and 27 seconds, three minutes clear of the runner up. Florencia Morales completed the event in just under one hour, finishing in 57 minutes and 38 seconds. She also completed the course three minutes faster than the runner up.

In addition to the Triathlon, there was a Duathlon that took place. The Duathlon consisted on a 1 mile run, a 10 mile bike ride, and then an addition 3.1 mile run. Gabriel Saavedra won the Duathlon on the Men's side with a time of 51 minutes and 52 seconds while Ceal Muldoon won the Female Overall category with a time of 58 minutes and 40 seconds.
